A: Students will use their school canvas to view and submit assignments for the course. This is an online course. The course requires a digital portfolio (LinkedIn with posts), approx. 40 internship hours per class period enrolled, and letters of recommendation. Other assignments, including but not limited to: online workshops, mock interview, cover letter, resume, and professional references and student and internship site evaluations will be part of the course work.

A: Yes, if you have completed an internship previously, you will still need to apply again for CTE Internship 2. You will still be required to enhance your digital portfolio (LinkedIn and posts), approx. 40 internship hours per class period enrolled and new letters of recommendations, in addition to coursework similar to CTE Internship 1.

A: Internship is during school hours and used as a class credit.

A: 40 hours minimum in a semester. This includes your time spent in the workshops.

A: In general, this is an unpaid internship used for school credit and to develop professional job skills in your chosen field. However, there are opportunities for paid internships.
Q: How old do I have to be?
A: You must just be a high school junior or senior. However, there are certain businesses that require you to be 18 years old by the first day of the internship. These are mostly within the medical and mechanical industry. We can provide you with individual requirements as you prepare for your internship.

A: Yes. It is the parent’s responsibility to provide transportation to and from the internship site.
